Ball pleads not guilty in 2025 crash that claimed three lives

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- A 2025 car accident resulted in three deaths, four victims and a 12 count indictment that includes multiple counts of homicide for the driver alleged to have caused it all.

Last month, a Campbell County Grand Jury returned a 12 count indictment against Michael Ball, a Tennessee resident. On Monday, in criminal court, he pleaded not guilty. His next court date Dec. 7.

Walden rules on motions in upcoming murder case

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Motions in the upcoming murder trial of Heather Renea Allen, and her husband, Brian Neil Allen were heard in criminal court on Monday. The couple is charged with first degree murder after they allegedly failed to seek medical attention for their intellectually disabled son, Tanner, in 2023. CLICK HERE for previous coverage.

LUB approves resolutions, Troutman’s legal service agreement

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The LaFollette Utility Board met on Monday evening holding its workshop and meeting, approving a resolution to discontinue the field operations retirement retention plan, as well as the approval for a public entity partner’s property conservation grant and the continuation of retaining board attorney Reid Troutman as the board’s legal counsel.

TOP PHOTO: New utility Manager Dave Cross shared that he was not planning on recommending any rate increases this fall and that according to a TVA meeting he attended in August, TVA was not planning a rate increase either. County Trustee Monty Bullock speaks at Rotary

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Trustee Monty Bullock (TOP PHOTO) guest spoke at the Rotary Club’s Tuesday luncheon held at the LaFollette Methodist Church.

Bullock is a “longstanding elected official in the county” having served Campbell County for 37 years.
